About the SWEEAP Training Program
The Scaling Women’s Economic Empowerment through Affirmative Procurement Reforms (SWEEAP) Training Program is a capacity-building initiative designed to support Women-Owned and Women-Led Businesses (WOLBs) in Nigeria.
The SWEEAP Training Program is implemented by DO Take Action with support from the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund (CAPF) and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
This program focuses on empowering women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools, and mentorship needed to compete effectively in public and private procurement opportunities. It also drives advocacy for gender-inclusive procurement reforms that support economic equity and female-led innovation.
Key Focus Areas of the SWEEAP Training Program:
- Bidding for procurement contracts and writing winning proposals
- Using digital tools to boost revenue and brand visibility
- Enhancing social media presence and tracking consumer behaviour
- Creating and managing professional business websites
- Understanding affirmative procurement policies
- Thriving in unstable economies through automation and restructuring
- Networking with industry professionals and fellow women entrepreneurs
You will learn how to write winning bids, grow your online presence, manage your website, and use technology to increase sales. The training promotes women’s inclusion in business and procurement.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the SWEEAP Training Program:
- You must be a woman entrepreneur in Kano or Rivers State.
- Your business should be owned or led by a woman.
- You must attend all sessions.
- Both informal and early-stage businesses can apply.
- You should be ready to formalise your business.
