- The Renaissance African Energy Company (Renaissance), operator of the NNPC/Renaissance/TotalEnergies/AENR Joint Venture (Renaissance JV), invites applications from suitably qualified Nigerian students to apply for the NNPC-RENAISSANCE JV University Scholarship.
- The scholarship aims to promote academic excellence and improve the skills of young Nigerians.
- It provides a yearly grant to successful applicants for the duration of their undergraduate degree programme.
Who Can Apply?
This merit-based scholarship is in two categories – the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award.
- National Merit Award (NM) – Open to all Nigerians
- Areas of Operation Merit Award – Open to Nigerians who are indigenes of Renaissance’s operational areas in Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers States
Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)
To be considered for the NNPC/Renaissance Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
General Eligibility
- Must be a Nigerian citizen
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Nigerian university
- Not above 25 years of age as of the application date
- Minimum of 5 O’level credits, including English and Mathematics
- Minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or second-class upper (2:1)
Community Requirement
- Must be from the host communities of NNPC/Renaissance operations (proof will be required)
Exclusions
- Current or past beneficiaries of similar oil company scholarships are not eligible
- Students studying outside Nigeria are not eligible
- Postgraduate students are not eligible

- RENAISSANCE and Its Joint Venture partners DO not demand payment from applicants. The application is entirely FREE of charge.
- RENAISSANCE and its Joint Venture partners DO not assign ‘Representatives’/ ‘Agents’ to assist applicants or facilitate the application process.
- Applications open on the 20th of June 2025 and close on the 25th of July 2025.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the proctored computer-based test.
- Only successful candidates at each selection stage will be contacted.
