The MTN Foundation has opened applications for the ICT and Business Skills Training Phase 6. This initiative targets young Nigerian entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses using technology and modern business strategies. Successful participants will share N90 million in equipment grants to support their ventures.

This program is a blend of hands-on ICT training, business development coaching, and access to funding opportunities, making it a practical chance for entrepreneurs to gain competitive skills.
About the Program
MTN ICT and Business Skills Training is a Youth Development initiative aimed at equipping young entrepreneurs between 18 and 35 years with tech enabled skills to keep their small businesses relevant and competitive.
The training will be delivered through a 5-week online programme which includes Masterclasses from key industry experts.
Participants will be given data for the duration of the programme to support a seamless learning experience. Not only that, the top 300 participants will be supported with an Equipment Grant worth N90,000,000! Yes, you read that right.
In partnership with some of our ecosystem partners – Oracle, KPMG, IBM, Digital Bridge Institute, CISCO, Google, Meta, and Microsoft, 5 Phases of the ICT and Business Skills Training have been implemented in 16 states since 2018.
They are Abia, Adamawa, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Borno, Cross River, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kogi, Lagos, Nasarawa, Oyo and Rivers. So far 4,036 young people have completed this programme.
In this 6th phase, 3000 youths will participate in the ICT and Business Skills Training to be implemented in partnership with Microsoft and Meta. It promises to be enlightening as:
- Microsoft will train participants on Entrepreneurship in the Digital Age, ICT for Business Success and their new Generative AI skills.
- Meta: will train participants on Skills to Build Brands and Grow Businesses Online through their Meta Boost for Small Business.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Nigerian citizen aged 18 to 35
- Own or run a small business or startup
- Have basic computer literacy
- Demonstrate interest in applying ICT skills to business growth
- Be available for the full training duration
Location: Own and manage a small business located in one of the following states – Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Kebbi, Niger, Yobe state.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on:
- Strength of the application
- Relevance of the business idea
- Demonstrated interest in ICT and entrepreneurship
- Geographical balance to ensure fair representation
