About the Program
The Ilorin Innovation Challenge & Hackathon 2025 is a national competition. It invites Nigerian innovators. It blends Hackathon sprint format with Innovation Challenge depth. It rewards smart, practical solutions. It seeks ideas that solve pressing local problems.
They are offering support to 10 innovators and startups through two programs the Innovation Challenge Programme (Incubation) for startups that have a minimum viable product and Hackathon (Pre-incubation) for Innovators in the idea stage.
Program Tracks
There are two tracks:
- Innovation Challenge — Incubation (for Startups)
- Hackathon — Pre-Incubation (for Innovators)
Eligibility Requirement
You qualify if you meet this:
- Open to innovators with promising ideas;
- Early-stage startups with MVPs or early traction;
- Students, tech enthusiasts, and creatives passionate about solving real problems;
- Builders ready to create impact in Kwara state, Nigeria and beyond.

Benefits of the Program
You get more than funding:
- N5,000,000 per startup in the incubation programme (Innovation Challenge)
- N2,000,000 for innovators in the pre-incubation programme (Hackathon)
Selection Criteria
The judges pick winners using clear criteria:
- Impact potential. The idea must address a real problem.
- Feasibility. You must show you can deliver a working prototype.
- Originality. The idea must stand out among entries.
- Sustainability. The solution must work beyond the event.
- Presentation. You must explain your idea clearly and concisely.
