The Youth Climate Adaptation Action Day, organized by the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) on the 12th of October, is the largest-running annual youth adaptation event taking place in over 100 countries around the world for the My Adaptation Solution Video Competition.

In 2025, the Youth Climate Adaptation Action Day will invite young people, youth-led organizations, students, and grassroots groups to organize consultations on Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), youth, and adaptation. NDCs are plans submitted by countries under the Paris Agreement outlining their climate action goals. The theme of “NDCs, Youth, and Adaptation” emphasizes the role young people play in building resilient economies and achieving these national commitments. The outcomes of these youth consultations will be presented at COP30 in Belém, Brazil.
The Youth Climate Adaptation Action Day aims to:
- Build the youth adaptation movement with schools, universities, and youth organizations.
- Raise awareness and increase the knowledge of young people on climate adaptation.
- Drive knowledge sharing for youth-led adaptation actions in Africa and around the world.

What Is the “My Adaptation Solution” Video Competition?
The My Adaptation Solution Video Competition 2025 is an open call for climate enthusiasts aged 18–35 to share short, compelling videos that showcase real-world climate adaptation solutions.
This competition spotlights solutions that break the heat cycle, safeguard water resources, and buffer communities against both drought and deluge. Your idea could reshape how we live, farm, and build in an increasingly hot world.
Requirements
Before you hit record, make sure you meet the following conditions:
- Are you between 18-35 years old and leading the fight against climate change?
- Have you developed an innovative and creative adaptation solution?

Selection Criteria
Winners will be selected through public voting via an online form. Results will be announced in early September.
