The internship aims to strengthen the professional integration of young graduates, giving them hands-on exposure to ECOWAS programs while allowing them to contribute to the effective implementation of its activities.

About ECOWAS
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), also known as CEDEAO in French, is a regional political and economic union of 15 countries in West Africa. Together, these countries cover a land area of about 5,114,162 km² and had an estimated population of over 349 million in 2015.
Internship Requirements
To be eligible for the ECOWAS Young Graduates Immersion Internship Programme 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a young graduate from an ECOWAS member state.
- Be aged 32 years or younger.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent certificate.
- Be available to work full-time throughout the program duration.
Program Benefits
Successful applicants will enjoy the following benefits during the internship:
- The internship lasts for 12 months maximum (non-renewable).
- Placements will take place in ECOWAS Departments, Agencies, Resident Representations, and Institutions.
- At the end of the program, interns must submit a comprehensive report in three copies (to DHAS, the host department, and themselves).
- The program will be conducted physically. However, online participation in information or feedback meetings is possible for those not residing in Abuja.

Applicants must prepare the following documents before applying:
- A request letter addressed to the ECOWAS Commissioner for Human Development and Social Affairs. The letter must state your motivation, areas of interest, preferred profile, desired location, and your commitment to follow program rules.
- A Curriculum Vitae (CV) in PDF format.
- A national identity card or passport (PDF or JPEG).
- Copies of academic certificates (PDF).
Note: Applicants can apply for a maximum of two positions only.
