The Federal Ministry of Education has opened the FME TVET Initiative Program for 2026. This program targets skilled trainers who want to train, mentor, and shape Nigeria’s technical workforce. The program offers structured training engagement, national relevance, and a ₦45,000 monthly stipend.
For every student trained, FG TVET Initiative Program will get a sum of ₦30,000 monthly as stipend for the FG Technical and Vocational Education and Training program.
Additionally, the TVET Trainers will also get access to government funding to enable them get equipped and give the proper training to their apprentices.

About TVET Initiative Program
The FME TVET Initiative registration for trainers is anchored by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), under the auspices of the Ministry of Education.
The Federal Government via the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE has opened the application portal to register and accredit trainers inline with the FG roll out of Technical and Vocational Education and Training TVET Program Nationwide to equip Nigerians with industry-relevant skills.
The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) is an organ of the Federal Ministry of Education, which is charged with the responsibility of regulating Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Nigeria.
Benefits for TVET Initiative Program
- While the students engaged in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training TVET program are given a monthly stipend of ₦22,500 stipend monthly, the FG TVET Trainers get a monthly stipend of ₦45,000 per student.
- Trainers also get the opportunity of funding and loans from the government to support their businesses.
Requirements for TVET Initiative Program Registration
To be eligible for the FME TVET Initiative for Trainers Registration, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
1. Mastercraft Persons (MCPs)
- CAC Registration or National Identification Number
- Adoption of NSQ-Based Curricula
- Minimum of one Qualified/Experienced Senior Artisan/Craftsperson per program.
- Provision of Essential Physical Facilities, including workshops and restrooms.
- Demonstrated Training Experience covering previous training programs, levels of training provided, and certifications awarded.
2. Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs)
- Proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
- Adoption of NSQ-Based Curricula.
- A minimum of one Qualified Instructor per trade, maintaining a ratio of 1 Instructor to 40 students
- At least one Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) per trade and one certified Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) assigned to the training center.
- Availability of essential physical infrastructure, including workshops/studios/field facilities, offices, classrooms, and restrooms.
- Documented training experience, including past training programs, levels of training offered, and certifications awarded.
3. Skill Training Centres (STCs)
- Proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
- Adoption of NSQ-Based Curricula.
- Minimum of one Qualified/Experienced Senior Artisan/Craftsperson or Qualified Instructor per program with at least NSQ Level 3 certification.
- At least one Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) per trade and one certified Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) assigned to the training center.
- Adequate technical and support staff for each workshop.
- Provision of Essential Physical Facilities: including workshops/studios/field training areas, offices, and restrooms.
- Demonstrated training experience covering previous training programs, levels of training provided, and certifications awarded.
