About the LCA Scholarship Program
The LCA Scholarship Program was created to help students achieve academic and career success through direct financial support and skill development. The Liberty Career Academy Scholarship is open to Nigerian citizens and legal residents from other African countries currently studying or living in Nigeria.
Applicants can apply for only one category and must meet both the general and category-specific requirements.
General Requirements
To qualify for the LCA Scholarship Program, applicants must:
- Provide verifiable proof of all academic or non-academic claims during screening.
- Be a student in their 1st–3rd year of a four-year program or 1st–4th year of a five-year program.
- Present academic history including WASSCE and JAMB results.
- Hold Nigerian citizenship or be a legal resident from another African country studying in Nigeria.
- Have a valid government-issued ID (or a family member’s if unavailable).
- Submit a 500-word Personal Statement written personally (AI-generated statements will lead to disqualification).
Categories of the Liberty Career Academy Scholarship
The LCA Scholarship Program offers three main categories designed to support different student groups:
1. Adeola Okungbaye Award
This award targets students from single-parent homes and orphans. It honors the memory of Adeola Okungbaye, a leader known for his dedication to youth empowerment.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Demonstrated financial need
- Orphan or from a single-parent family
- Enrolled or admitted to an accredited Nigerian post-secondary institution (University, Polytechnic, or College of Education)
- Minimum 3.5/5.0 CGPA or 220/400 JAMB score
- Meet all LCA Scholarship Program general requirements
2. Merit-Based Award
This award recognizes exceptional academic performance and leadership potential. It supports high-achieving students who have shown consistent excellence.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Enrollment or admission in an accredited Nigerian institution
- Minimum 3.70/5.0 CGPA or 240/400 JAMB score
- Active participation in extra-curricular activities
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Fulfillment of all Liberty Career Academy Scholarship requirements
3. Gifted Hands Award
This category supports young artisans and vocational students. It helps them acquire professional tools and training to succeed in their chosen careers.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Age between 18 and 25 years
- Enrollment in an accredited vocational or technical institution in Nigeria
- Currently unemployed
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Fulfillment of all LCA Scholarship Program general criteria
